It's been a hard week.
Rosalie is neutropenic (low white blood cell count) and her platelets are also a little low - but not low enough to transfuse. Yesterday she had a spontaneous bloody nose - perhaps due to the low platelets.
She has been vomiting quite a bit and been just plain nauseous. We are trying our best to figure out the dosing of her anti-nausea medicine and figuring out when to time her feeds so she doesn't throw up.
It is not a good time to push food orally because the rehab team doesn't want her to grow averse to food in general. This makes a lot of sense to me.
In between the waves of nausea she is just fine - she is alert and ready to play. And ironically enough, her PT/OT sessions have been fantastic.
Hopefully she won't be as nauseous next week. We are quite certain that it is one of the chemotherapies called Cisplatin that is causing the nausea. This went into her system on 7/1, so maybe the toxicity will die down soon.
I just keep telling myself that all these side effects mean that the chemotherapy is working. That doesn't make it any easier to see her in pain.

I miss my little Wosterwee Wae Weible. I think of you every day and can't wait to play soon. I hope you are feeling better...little bits at a time. Judah can't wait to play with you. He wants to show you all of the things you taught him how to do.
