Rosalie has been in the hospital since I last posted. She is on contact precautions because of the rotavirus, so she isn't allowed out of the room. It was a long week of measuring her intake and output and seeing if the rotavirus would resolve. This was all being balanced with the fact that she was scheduled for Cytoxan and Vincristine on Thursday. We are pleased to report that she did very well drinking by herself and was having proper stools by Friday. She was supposed to have her chemo on Saturday, but her neutrophils took a dip. So we had to hold the chemo. On Sunday she was good to go.
Now we are dealing with the wake of chemotherapy. She is just out of sorts. She woke up after three restless hours of sleep with a fever which probably buys us another 48 hours in the hospital while they do cultures :(
She is (and we are) getting cabin fever in her hospital room. But at least we have a gorgeous view of the city.
We remember that we need to keep our eyes on the prize, that the lotus grows in the mud, that things get messy before they get clean.
Please pray for another successful round of chemotherapy and for Rosalie's strength and fortitude as she copes with all the crazy things that are happening to her little body.

P.S. Carolyn, you're right - someday Rosie is going to be MORTIFIED to know you once regularly updated the world on the status of her stools. :-)
