First Day
Rosalie's first session of radiation went smoothly. I am amazed at the number of brains that go into this procedure. Physicists, dosimetrists, doctors, radiation therapists, an anesthesiologist, two nurses - there is really quite a buzz around Rosalie as she has this treatment done. Rosalie knows that she needs to go into the hospital each morning to help her boo boo (not an owie boo boo, a little lump boo boo) go away. We talk to her about the rainbow light that will go into her head and back to make sure it goes away. I asked her if she would rather have sun light or rainbow light go in to make it go away - and she preferred the rainbow - so there you go. Somehow I don't think the word radiation would mean much to a three (almost four) year old. And for me, I like to imagine that the radiation is like a beam of sunlight or a spectrum of color being pointed inside her to cure her of this disease. Keep Rosalie in you thoughts the next five weeks as she receives radiation each weekday. Pray that this will be Rosalie's cure.
