Gaining Independence

Rosalie has steadily improved her reading over the course of the past two years.

Today Rosalie was reading in her car seat and for the first time she opened to a page, read the title of a poem, and read the entire thing on her own. It was not one she had heard before or memorized.

She has read books to me before, but they have come with practice and assistance on certain words. What music to a mother's (and a teacher's) ears to hear independent reading!

Rosalie, Susannah, and Teddy are getting ready for bed in the background. She knows she has her scan tomorrow, and, as always, she doesn't bat an eyelash.

All our prayers for good news tomorrow.

Love,
Carolyn
