First Trip to ER

Rosalie spiked a fever yesterday so we had to go to the ER (standard protocol for kids on chemo). Luckily, Carolyn B. was already at our house so she took care of Susannah for the night.

At the ER, we had to wait for Rosalie's blood labs to come back before they chose which antibiotic to administer. Finally at midnight she had been given a broad antibiotic and we will just see if she continues to spike fevers today.

We love our friends up on the 7th Floor - we had a few questions as we were waiting for the final word on what the doctos were going to do for Rosalie - it was was much quicker to go ask them than to wait for the docs. Thanks, 7 Long!

Since Rosalie is not technically neutropenic (neutrophil count below 500) we were allowed to come home to the house.

The upside -- you have doctors and a good hospital to go to within a very close distance. I hope the trips to the ER are infrequent. Still glad to hear that Rosalie can go back home with you. Hang in there!
