Last week Rosalie's pre-chemo labs showed that one of her hormones, cortisol, was abnormally low. We know that endocrine issues could surface for Rosalie as a result of the chemotherapy and radiation she has received.
Yesterday she had a cortisol stimulation test, the name of which is totally escaping me, and the results were normal.
This is very good news because it means that she will not have to take hormone replacement. Cortisol, according to all the internet sources I've read, is really important!
Obviously other hormone issues could surface in the future, so she will need to see an endocrinologist throughout her life.
Rosalie also received Vincristine, one of the tamer chemotherapies, yesterday. She is doing okay, she is pretty cranky and doesn't want to eat too much. But for the most part she is fine.
Hope everyone is enjoying the final days of 2006!
Love,
Carolyn

Cortisol also helps regulate our bodies' response to stress. So Rosalie is fighting off stress like a champ, and this is great news. But this is also GREAT news for you, Carolyn, to think about when your fingers start flying on late night searches..."I don't need to do this google search; my kid's got rockstar hormones!" Stress be gone! Elisabeth Snell
