In fairness to the doctors, the spinal tap is labeled a 'lumbar puncture,' not a spinal tap. Hmmm . . . I think I see why. Spinal tap sounds so totally awful - an image of a spigot at the base of the spine is the first thing I conjure up. Yuck. But I think people are more familiar with the term spinal tap - and plus, it makes Rosalie sound really hardcore.
Rosalie has an MRI of the brain/spine, and afterwards they will do a lumbar puncture to test the cerebral spinal fluid.
She will be under anesthesia for both these procedures.
Please pray for a safe scan, a steady hand, and clear results!
We will not meet with Dr. Banerjee until the late afternoon, so we will post the results as soon as we get home.
Go, Rosalie!
Love,
Carolyn and Mark
