Next Steps

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Today we spoke with Rosalie's neuro-oncologist, Dr. Banerjee. She too believes that the MRI is showing bone damage (necrosis) at T7. She has seen this with another child who received spinal radiation. But we need to rule out cancer, since there have been rare cases where medulloblastoma has spread to the bone.

Rosalie is scheduled for a PET/CT scan this Thursday. This could result in one of three scenarios, two of which would require a bone biopsy. There is thought to just going straight to biopsy and skip the added anestesia/radiation needed for PET/CT.

Dr. Banerjee wants to consult with radiology about how invasive the bone biopsy will be and then decide whether to skip the scan and go right to biopsy or not.

More to come....
