Spring Break

We are back from a fun family trip to Florida.

I always get annoyed at myself for only posting on this blog when something out of the ordinary occurs. Because really the most exciting part about being post-treatment is the ordinary stuff. I wish that I took more photos of breakfast or dropping the girls off at school or Teddy taking a bath. We treasure the fact that when we leave to go to a movie we don't have to instruct a babysitter how to administer Rosalie's meds. We remember a time when Rosalie couldn't get wet because of her Broviac. We know that we are incredibly lucky to be concerned about Rosalie's handwriting and not her neutrophil count.

The medical part of life will always be there. Rosalie has scans under anesthesia every three months. Her next one is tomorrow. She is seen by oncology, endocrinology, neuro-psychology, ophthalmology, and she attends some form of therapy every day of the week (speech, physical, occupational). But we're used to it all and that's just how it goes.

We had a fabulous time in Florida. We stayed with Nonnie and Poppy Struthers in Vero Beach. Poppy and Meema Reibel came and visited from Miami Beach for a night. We overlapped with my brother Tim and his family for a day and a half. Seeing the cousins together is such a joy. The finale was a visit to magical Disney World. Fun stuff!
