Home Again + Your Prayers

We were able to take Rosalie home earlier this evening. She earned her ticket out the door by having no fevers for 24 hours and by showing the doctors that she was eating and drinking. It is so nice to have all four of us under one roof.

On another note, it has been getting harder to give Rosalie her oral chemotherapy. She is definitely "on" to the fact that it doesn't taste good. I have to say that in this journey having to administer our daughters chemotherapy has been one of the worst parts. I really hate it. It's like this constant reminder, this constant reminder of the cancer we are treating. And to see her look so disgusted when we put it in her mouth just makes me want to cry. It almost makes me mad that the pharmacist wants us to wear a mask and gloves when we prepare the chemotherapy, and yet we put it right into her little mouth so she can eat it. Even though the Cytoxan she receives is so toxic at the get-go, it is over after one hospital admission. The oral chemotherapy is 22 nights of facing the beast.

In times like these, when I realize the gravity of cancer and the possible side effects of its treatment, I ask for your prayers. Rosalie deserves to live cancer-free with no long-term side effects. Put it out there into the universe that this will be so.

Love, love, love,
Carolyn

Sending as much love and hugs through email as possible.

PS -- how is Rosie's walking coming along? Did she get the fancy walker the therapist showed you?

I can't imagine how difficult it is, but as you give her the chemo, imagine you are giving her life in 22 doses, because that is what you are doing! Every dose is ensuring she will be perfect and healthy in the future. I am picturing her as a healthy normal and happy little girl with all the possibilities in the world in front of her. And she is wearing pink.

Hello Reibel family, So glad to hear that Rosie is home. May she stay healthy. And, to agree with other posters, you are giving her life in 22 horrible tasting doses. Good luck getting her to take the medicine! Lots of love and prayers and thoughts, Liana and Josh

She is home!!! Lets hope that as awful as the medication is, it restores her health and soon you all can put this behind. My prayers are with all of you and always hoping that Rosie keeps getting better and better. At time like this I wish I had a magic wand and make it all better....one day soon we will be celebrating being free of all this. Much love, Dinorah
